Sharing my three favorite way to use Honey in my dishes apart from using it in my usual tea and oatmeal. Let me know in the comments which is your favorite and how you use Honey in your daily life. 1. Honey Almond Coconut Fudge

Ayurvedic Recipe

Honey Almond Coconut Fudge is like a five-minute vacation, revitalizing you to your core with its rich almond, nutty coconut flavors mixed with the sweetness of honey.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  1. 1/4 tsp Cinnamon

  2. 1/4 cup Almond Butter

  3. 1 cup Coconut flakes or Powdered Coconut

  4. 1 tbsp Coconut Oil

  5. 1/4 tsp Dry Ginger Powder

  6. 4 tbsps Honey

  7. 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. The fudge will harden in the fridge, or retain a soft consistency at room temperature.

  2. If your almond butter is hard; place it in the microwave for 30 seconds to melt.

  3. Once mixed well, store it in the fridge for at least an hour to harden and then enjoy with milk (freezing is totally optional).

NOTES

  • This fudge does not need to be refrigerated, but I prefer to store mine in the fridge to keep it firm.

  • Chill for at least 2 hours. Cut into pieces and serve or chill for later. Fudge will keep in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Alternative: You can also add Chia Seeds or Crushed Almonds for extra crunch.

Benefits of Honey Almond Coconut Fudge

Cinnamon and ginger not only stimulate digestion and improve absorption, but they also stimulate your "agni" to keep your energy levels strong. Plus, cinnamon helps to regulate blood sugar levels.

This completely natural, whole food is a simple, safe sweet treat. Homemade desserts give you the freedom to choose how much sugar, fats, and salts you eat. Few homemade desserts offer the simplicity and elegance of Almond Coconut Fudge.

Rich, yet balanced with healthy fats, fiber, and protein, Almond Coconut Fudge promises more than empty carbs, it fills your inner emptiness - satisfying a cellular hunger. The fiber in Almond Coconut Fudge is heartier and holds your appetite longer than empty carbs. The fiber provides a more authentic fullness in the tummy. So often, sugar cravings are protein cravings in disguise. Almond Coconut Fudge is a high protein treat that gives your body what it truly needs.

2. Golden Milk

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  1. 2 cups Milk

  2. 2 tbsp Cardamom powder/or one whole Cardamom pod

  3. 1 tbsp Cinnamon

  4. 4 tbsp Honey

  5. 2 tbsp Turmeric

Instructions

1. Heat milk with spices until it just boils. 2. Remove from heat. Let cool a few minutes and pour into a cup with honey. Be sure not to heat the honey with milk and herbs. The honey can liquefy in the warmed milk, but heating honey is not recommended.

Benefits of Golden Milk

Golden milk strengthens and rehabilitates those with weak constitutions. Vata individuals often suffer from poor digestion due to dryness, cold, weakness, and digestion. The turmeric, cinnamon, and cardamom in this drink add heat and stimulate extra blood flow to the digestive tract, counteracting coldness and making the milk easy to digest.

Milk can create instant congestion for those with a Kapha-type body (i.e. those who tend to have low metabolism and gain weight). Kapha people who drink too much milk soon end up with excessive mucus in their digestive tract and sinuses. The spices in gold milk, destroy mucous in both the respiratory and digestive tract, making this nutritive tonic supportive even for Kapha types.

Suffering from insomnia? Spiced milk is an age-old formula for relaxation in Ayurveda. From a western standpoint, the calcium and magnesium levels in milk indicate its ability to relax a racing mind and tight muscles. From an Ayurvedic perspective, Golden Milk contains all the qualities that bring on sound sleep- it is heavy, warm, and nourishing. Milk is what lulls babies to sleep; it innately offers a sense of peace.

Tahini Salad Dressing with Cumin & Honey

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  1. 1 tsp roasted cumin powder

  2. 1 clove raw garlic

  3. 1 tbsp honey

  4. 1 tsp salt

  5. 1/4 c tahini

  6. 2 tbsp water

  7. 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Puree all ingredients together in a blender.

  2. Tahini salad dressing warms up Kapha for spring. Raw garlic has a strong cleansing effect that clears the sinuses and purges the bowels. Cumin brings in rustic, earthy undertones while garlic adds lightness. Even the honey brings warmth.
